One day I received a phone call from the World Series of Golf asking to speak to me. I replied, “Well, if it’s about golf, you must want to speak to my husband.” No, they wanted to invite ME to play in their tournament in Las Vegas. Are you kidding me? Apparently, my husband had been watching the U. S. Open when viewers were invited to apply to play in this event. Without telling me, he signed both of us up. So now I had been chosen, so how could I not do it?
Now, mind you, I am not a good golfer, and I have a very high handicap, but they still wanted me since they felt that January Jones would be good publicity for their event. I think they might have thought I was the young, sexy January Jones from the TV show Mad Men. So what the hell, I said, “YES” and embarked on a fun adventure of a lifetime that made me a reality golf personality. It was so much fun that after I played in the Vegas event, Leif and I both played in it again the next year in Temecula, CA. It was called The World Series of Golf in partnership with Full Tilt Poker.
