SENIORS: LIVING, DYING, AND NOT WHINING

When I wrote my book, twenty years ago, I was observing seniors.
Now I am one.

Apparently, this book was not social commentary.
It was advanced planning.

Seniors and whining go together like prunes and constipation.

One usually leads to a lengthy discussion about the other.
Get five seniors together, and you don’t have a conversation.
You have an organ recital.
“My knee…”
“My hip…”
“My bladder…”
“That’s nothing. Let me tell you about my colon.”
A man is as old as he’s feeling.
A woman is as old as she looks.

At 83, I’ve learned that getting older is a privilege.

It’s also a full-time job with terrible hours and a very confusing benefits package.
