Twenty years ago, I wrote about single people from the safety of a 55-year marriage.
Now I’m an 83-year-old widow with five closets, a comedy career and a female dog named Ginger Ale.
So I’ve completed the research.
And my conclusion is that,
Being single is wonderful!
Nobody snores.
Nobody touches my pillows.
Nobody asks why I need five closets.
Except Ginger Ale—and she already claimed one.
I did not become single by choice.
I was blessed with a wonderful marriage and still carry that love with me.
But life handed me a new chapter, and I decided I was going to live the hell out of it.
I’m not sitting home waiting for life to knock on my door.
Although today, I am actually sitting at home waiting for servicemen to knock on my door.
At my age, that counts as having gentlemen callers.
